ONLINE COURSE OPTIONS
Family of Faith College is excited to be a member of the Knowledge Elements Educational Network (KEEN) through which the college is able to offer a large number of online courses. Credits earned through these online courses are considered the same as if you took them at the FFC campus. If you are interested in taking an online course, please follow the procedures below.
ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES FOR ONLINE COURSES
1. Apply to Family of Faith College. Click here for the admissions information page with application links. Please note that application deadlines for online courses are April 1 for the fall and summer semesters, and October 1 for the spring semester.
2. Discuss plans with Family of Faith College Registrar to help in determining what courses are needed, what online courses are available, and the scheduling options.
3. Determine personal aptitude for online courses. Visit the KEEN website found at http://knowledgeelements.com/online.php. Click on the "online assessment" option in the middle of the page. Take the brief survey to help determine personal functionality of the online course environment.
4. Register for the courses with the Registrar and arrange payment. Tuition at FFC is $165.00 per credit hour. Online courses are three credit hours each. There is an additional fee of $100.00 per online course fee. Thus, the total, per online course, will be $595.00. If these courses contribute toward the completion of a degree program at Family of Faith College, there may be eligibility for federal financial aid. To determine this, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Paper copies of the FAFSA may be obtained from the Financial Aid office at FFC, or it can be filled out via the internet at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.
5. Once payment is arranged, one can be enrolled by the Registrar into the courses and KEEN will be informed of registration. One will then receive a user -ID and password from KEEN.
6. Textbooks than can be purchased through the virtual bookstore of the college:http://www.ecampus.com, www.textbooks.com, or a website of choice.
Periodic announcements will be made as to the enrollment dates of the various courses which will be offered online. Students must have access to a computer with an Internet connection and an active e-mail address. The speed of the computer, the speed of the modem, and the quality of the internet connection are also significant.
Although classes will be asynchronous (all students do not need to be online at the same time), students will have contact with their instructor and classmates through forums and e-mail.
