Patricia Troglin, Professor Emeritus, May 2009
Patricia Troglin, Professor Emeritus, May 2009

During the graduation ceremony on May 15th, Family of Faith College president, Samuel Matthews, acknowledged the immense contributions made by Patricia Troglin to the vision, the faculty and the students of the college by recognizing Mrs. Troglin as the college’s first Professor Emeritus.

The word “emeritus” means “something earned.” However, it was the opinion of the college faculty and the Board of Trustees that Mrs. Troglin’s entire life was given to fulfilling the vision of training laborers for the Kingdom of God . In addition to teaching in the college, she was a dedicated teacher in her church, Immanuel Fellowship in Seminole, and to her family members. When Mrs. Troglin announced her retirement last January, the faculty began to search for a way to honor her commitment. It was understood by all that, even though officially retired, Mrs. Troglin would continue to intercede to see the fulfillment of the vision to send out trained laborers into the nations. To the Faculty and the Board, this was the ultimate definition of “professor emeritus” – one who served faithfully and who will continue to live a life that fulfills the vision of the college. The honor was unanimously approved by both the Board of Trustees and the Faculty.

Mrs. Troglin was presented a plaque and a book that contained letters from former students and colleagues. If you would like to read these letters, please CLICK the Read More link below.
